Behind the Blog
Steph & Jo here. We’re The Twins behind the blog. While we can be quite geeky (both Biological Sciences major at the USC—Fight On!), we aren’t and won’t be defined by just that one trait. We love all things creative, artsy, yummy, pretty, healthy, fun, etc. You get it–we don’t want to limit ourselves to one dimension.
During our senior year at USC, we wanted to do something different, something aside from science and health. We hastily picked up an Entrepreneurship minor and were challenged to go beyond our comfort zone. We have always been interested in startups, but taking on this minor really made us see world in a different light. We got excited about doing something of our own–something that would really show our individual personalities and quirks. After listening to and learning from amazing entrepreneurs (bloggers included), we decided to take action: we wanted to create a blog that centered around our love for health, fashion, and beauty.
While we originally each had our own blogs, we decided to do something that The Twins could call their own. BUT why would we want to start a blog together when we’ve been together for 22 years of our lives? Well…starting September 2015, we will split up (sad, oh so sad) to follow different career paths. We wanted to do something creative, entrepreneurial, and personal TOGETHER, even though we have to separate.
Define the Twins: Steph + Jo
extra petite. too short to reach anything.
nerds. nerve impulses travel as fast as 170 mph…
constant snackers. where’s the cupcake?
foodies. too lazy to cook.
health nuts. got kale?
window shoppers. can we go shopping now?
D.I.Y.ers. I can make that.
thrifter. too poor to actually afford anything.
wannabe hipsters. mason jars, anyone?
Behind the name: opal + opal
The Twins are October babies, and the birthstone for October is Opal. Can you guess how the name originated now? Two girls, who are twins, born in October.
Moreoever, we love the birthstone opal, because, while it is white, it’s not limited to just one color. Within an opal is a myriad of colors. Just like these stones, we are characterized by many traits and skills.
