We’ve been meaning to do a skin care routine for a while now–and we’ve finally got to it…yay! We wanted to share with you some of our experiences with skin care products, especially since there’s such an abundance of products out there!
Fresh Soy Face Cleanser – this cleanser was nice and does a good job of removing excess facial oils without being too drying. While it does give the skin a nice, soft glow, it doesn’t keep acne/breakouts at bay. Both of us ended up breaking out a few times while we used this product. This cleanser is more gel-like (it doesn’t foam up). The soy cleanser has a cucumber-like scent and is free of parabens, sulfates, and phthalates. It’s gentle and good for sensitive skin. The tube lasts a while, though–we’re almost done with it after ~3mo. However, it isn’t so amazing that we’d rush out to get another.
Tatcha Luminous Dewy Skin Mist – if this product seems familiar, that’s because we introduced it in our recent post about the benefits of facial mists! This product was provided c/o of Tatcha, but we still really enjoyed using it. The mist is very gentle and helps give your skin an extra boost of healthy glow. It also smells amazing! We use it after cleansing (or shower) to keep our face moist as the water evaporates off the skin.
CosRX AHA/BHA Clarifying Treatment (toner) * – the toner is very gentle and contains minimal ingredients. There are two things we really liked about the toner–1) the container: we loved how it was a spray. You can either spray it on your skin directly (as the box suggested for those with sensitive skin) or you can spray on a cotton ball and then apply (allows for more exfoliation). 2) The toner is quite hydrating and absorbs into the skin easily. Unfortunately, the toner claims to help prevent blackheads, whiteheads, and blemishes, but we didn’t see much difference in our skin.
Usually, we also use a serum (after the toner), but we haven’t gotten around to purchasing another one yet..any suggestions? In the past, we really enjoyed the C20 Pure Vitamin C21.5 Serum * from Wishtrend (click for discount codes!), but we’re definitely open to suggestions! 🙂
Skinlab Lift and Firm Eye Gel – we actually just got this product recently and are so far enjoying it. It’s light, moisturizing, and absorbs well. (Keeping your eye area moisturized is an important step to preventing wrinkles!) The eye gel contains vitamin E beads, which protect against environmental damages. However, because the vitamin E is only in the beads, you won’t get it in every application… The good thing is that this gel will literally last forever. It’s a “measly” 0.7oz, but you seriously need the tiniest of amounts to apply around your eyes.
Mizon Hyaluronic Ultra Suboon Cream – when we first saw this on Amazon, we were really excited: we had great experiences with Mizon snail creams, and hyaluronic acid (ingredient) is super moisturizing. We thought that the combination of the two would make an phenomenal product. Sadly, the product wasn’t as moisturizing as other hyaluronic acid moisturizers we’ve tried, and the cream didn’t last long at all. We’ve only used this product for a few weeks (note: both of us), and we’re done with it. What we really did like was the container–it’s easy to carry around and helps protect against contamination.
Newtone DD (Daily Defense) Sun Cream – our dad actually got this sun cream for us in Korea, so we have absolutely no clue where to purchase it online…but we’re absolutely loving this product–it’s very light and applies clear on the skin. It’s SPF 50 with PA+++ (learn more about sun care!). The sun cream is moisturizing and doesn’t leave the skin feeling as if you’ve just applied sunscreen (do you get what I mean?). We just bummed that we can’t repurchase this product again, even if we wanted to… 🙁 sad life…
What steps are in your daily skin care routine?
Wishing you all the best,
