We all want beautiful skin, but is it really that important to use separate lotions for your body and face? Yes! Let me explain why…Steph and I, we’ve been pretty lazy about our skin care routine recently. We purchased a Costco-sized body lotion and really didn’t want to spend more money on another set of lotion…that was a big mistake! As Steph mentioned in our Nutty Strawberry Smoothie Recipe, using body lotion for our face, getting little sleep, and eating out too much all cumulated in acne-prone skin. Let us give you 2 reasons why we all should keep our face and body lotions separate!
The skin on our face and body are different
Facial skin tends to secrete greater amounts of sebum or oils and is more exposed to exposed to environmental factors than the body is. Moreover, the skin on your face is thinner and more sensitive than that of the body. These differences hint at the fact that your face and body should be treated differently in your skincare routine!
Facial and body moisturizers are different
Facial moisturizers are created purposefully for the face, meaning they take into account that the skin is thinner and more sensitive than the rest of the body. They also contain ingredients that target personal concerns, such as acne, excess sebum, skin cell regeneration, and wrinkles–thus keeping our facial skin looking bright and young. On the other hand, body lotions typically contain harsher ingredients like fragrances, oils, minerals, cocoa butter, and more that can clog your pores and irritate your skin!
Conclusion: Don’t use body lotion on the face!
Have you ever used body lotion on your face?
Wishing you all a lovely day,
