After a hectic ten days of summer (moved into my new apartment, bought a huge ton of furniture, BOUGHT A CAR, and experienced Texas’ storm of the century), I started grad school. The reemergence of studying brought me back to my favorite study place during my undergraduate career at USC–Nature’s Brew. Not only was it within walking distance from my apartment (albeit about a 20-minute walk), the cafe was a quaint, hipster, and DELICIOUS place to eat and work at.
Alright, before you all wonder what we’ve been doing with our lives, let’s just get it out there that even we don’t know why it’s taken us so long to go to one of the many all-you-can KBBQ restaurants in Los Angeles. Maybe it’s because neither of us have a car or there’s just so many options or just that none of my friends have really suggested us go until yesterday? Anyhow, we finally did go yesterday and to Bud Namu Korean BBQ in Koreatown where we paid $11.99 per person for the all you can eat option!
Although we’ve heard so many great things about yoga, doing it at home rarely seems like a challenging enough workout for it to be worth our time. Even when we tried Jillian Michaels and her Yoga Meltdown series, it didn’t feel quite right. Although it was definitely more challenging than any poses we could manage on our own, it didn’t feel really personal–Jillian seems more like she’s talking at you, not with you and that’s more or less the nature of many video workouts. This is why we really enjoyed Mixx Yoga, located in Newport Beach, California.
